It's Wednesday-Blockheads 13 -

Patchwork Flower

by Corey Yoder

You can go to her blog to download
the pattern by clicking here.

I just love her flower.
We still have flowers hanging on
through the heat and I am truly looking
forward to Fall.

I changed all the quilts in the house to Fall quilts last week.

This is Hilltop House hanging in my foyer.
The quilt is 88" x 94" so I couldn't
get a picture straight on.

Here's the picture on the back of the pattern.

And here's the 68" x 74" wallhanging (or throw).

I don't know if you have seen Jo Mortons latest fabric
line that the reps are showing to shops now.
It's called "Spice It Up" and the quilts would look
awesome made out of it.
If you'd like to go take a look you can do so by clicking here.

Don't be intimidated by the borders.  We all know I prefer
appliqué and these borders were a breeze to piece.
The pattern is on sale this week - both quilts in one pattern.
You can buy it by clicking here.

I usually have my blog post up at midnight on
Blockheads Wednesday but my favorite
publisher Martingale is doing a blog post on
Sleigh Bells today and I wanted to wait until
it was up so I could share it.
And there's a chance to win a book from them.

So now lets go see what the other designers
have done with Corey's block.
Lynne of Kansas Troubles
Barb & Mary of Me and My Sister
Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic
Vanessa of Lella Boutique
Betsy Chutchian
Stacy lest Hsu
Laurie Simpson of Minick & Simpson
Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life
Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings
Corey Yoder of Coriander Quilts
Carrie Nelson of Moda's Cutting Table

Jo Morton of Jo's Quilts probably won't be posting
in Blockheads much except when it's her block
 but you might just want
to drop in and see what she's doing.

If so, click here.

Well, that makes 12.
I seem to be Lucky 13.

Until next week ladies,
Keep quilting.:)

Mystery Quilt Block #7 and Moda Blockheads Block #12

Jaces Star
By Lisa Bongean

(Did I really tell you who designed the block
or can you tell by the size of the triangles.  :)

You can go to Lisa's blog to download
the pattern by clicking here.

This is the August block of my 2018 Mystery Quilt
Midnight Garden.  My Mystery Quilt starts
in February each year so this is Block #7.
It's not too late to join the fun -
You can do that by clicking here.
Earlier blocks can be seen in the column on the right.

This is my "Galaxy" quilt made out of my Sycamore fabric line.
I very seldom do repeat block quilts
and very seldom do mainly pieced quilts but
somehow this fabric and these designs just
seemed to call out to me.  I love it.
Anyway, the kit is on sale this week so you can have
a chance to love it in your home too.

So now lets go see what the other designers

Moda Blockheads II - Direction

Block 11
by Sherri McConnell

To go to her blog to get the pattern click here.

Here is our "Finally Fall" Quilt Kit -
our Mini Quilt Club offering this Fall,
featuring some of my favorite themes -
houses - pumpkins - a cat & a crow and
made out of one of my favorite fabric lines - Sycamore.

And Fall is really welcome after all the heat this summer.

What is not quite so welcome to my younger grandsons is

"School Days".
The quilt is welcome but the reality is not.

All 5 of the younger ones are going to new schools this fall and
they start this week.
It's exciting and stressful at the same time.
New beginnings always are.
Prayers and hugs for them all.

Anyway the quilt kit is on sale this week to mark the occasion.

Speaking of occasions - we have a winner to my Sleigh Bells book.
I love reading all of the comments and wish you all could win but
the Random Number Generator picked Carmen (Quilt 101) who said

I love Fall the best but Winter beckons us to cozy up with a quilt and sit by the fire. Sleigh Bells is the perfect quilt for Christmas and for the entire winter season. I just love it! Thanks for a chance to win your new book.
Carmen

Carmen, if you'll email us your snail mail address, we'll send you your book.

You couldn't all win a book but you can all buy one.  To do that click here.

So now lets go see what the other designers

Moda Blockheads 2-Wednesday - Time for........

Block #10

Duck and Ducklings
by Jo Morton

To download the pattern click here.
To go to see what she's been doing and
what she did with her block click here.

This is my quilt Sleigh Bells.
It was a Mystery Quilt one year so you had to
get the kit each month in order to make the quilt.

Now Martingale has done an awesome job of
publishing a book full of pictures of each block
along with the patterns.
I am really happy - they did a wonderful job.
Thanks Martingale.  :)

Hopefully most shops will be carrying it so go to your local quilt shop and see.
Or of course, we're carrying them in our store.

If you're a shop and want to order some for your store
you can order by visiting their website at
                                               MartingaleWholesale.com
                                             or by calling 1-800-426-3126

I got an email awhile ago asking for the name of a quilt a lady had seen.
She described it as having
"a house and a tree and a cat".
I really couldn't think at the time but
it might be this one.
If so it is Cherry Tree Lane.

I decided to put this on the blog because by the time I
thought of it, I had, of course, lost the woman's email.

Back to  SLEIGH BELLS.

Make a comment - any old comment - about winter,
about summer, about anything --
and next week I will have the Random Number Generator pick a
winner to send a copy of Sleigh Bells.

So now lets go see what the other designers
have done with Jo's block.

The first Moda Blockheads in August

And it's "With a Plus"
a 6" block
by Laurie Simpson

To download the pattern click here.
And to go to her blog click here

I always have to go check on what she's doing
because she's my Blockhead Buddy.
I'm not sure whether that's the right term or not but I
picked her to join Blockheads because I have
always loved her work.
Right now she seems to be doing each block in Minick/Simpson
fabric and also in a Bella Solid.
They're really neat.

Besides doing Laurie's block last week I went to
Oklahoma City to give lectures and teach a workshop
with the Central Oklahoma Quilt Guild,
a very nice group of ladies.
And as usual, I forgot to take pictures - you'd
think that by now - after all these years of
blogging- that I would remember.
They're a very active Guild with all sorts of goings on
and lots of things to do.
If you're in the area and get a chance to meet with them, do.

Back at home the dogs and chickens were really
glad to see me when I finally got here.
Pep said that Dobby and Elizabeth sat on the hill all day and
waited for the van to come home.
And Dobby didn't eat the entire time I was gone.
(He's one chubby little Corgi so it probably was good for him.)

This is Summertime and it's on sale this week.
Check out the Deal of the Week at the top of the left column.

So now lets go see what the other designers
have done with Laurie's block.
