Block #15

Out on the deck, the marigolds are starting to bloom

and the coneflowers and Lillies

are showing off in the garden.

We got some respite from the

very high temperatures, thank God,

so the ferns just went to town. :)

I'm getting too old to kneel down so its really

hard to get good pictures of my Mille Fleur D’uccles hen

and her roosters (I'm not sure I spelled that right

but I don't think she'll care).

I'm still trying to figure out where the

white comes from on the Banty babies

(probably from Mom).

It's not quite July yet but we're getting ready.

I picked up red, white and blue striped paper

plates and napkins at the store today and

our All American Tablestand kit is

on sale this week.

Our Vintage book on sale is

Liberty Garden.

It's got lots of quilts to keep you inside and

cool during the month of July.

My computer is being difficult.

My grandchildren were here this weekend

and pretty well lived on the computer

and now things don't work.

And I'm not a computer person - I'm a quilt designer

Happy Blockheads #4, Wednesday - Block #13

Evening Delight

Its been a warm week in Northwest Missouri

and everything is really growing so I've

been busy watering all of my garden on

the deck. (Jeff takes care of the garden outside

and I take care of the chickens.)

This is a tomato plant I rescued at

Walmart. (Someone left it at the

checkout desk so I bought it.)

I stuck it in with the sugar snap peas.

Hopefully they will grow around the rim

and it can have the middle.

Its a Better Boy (or something) and

Pep can use it and the basil to make

"summer pizza". "Summer pizza" is

Pep's awesome crust, tomato slices, mozzarella,

basil and olive oil. Very simple and absolutely

delicious. And it only works with real tomatoes

so we only have it in the summer.

The marigolds in the plantar are starting to bloom.

I can't wait to see it covered with marigolds.

It was Flag Day on the 14th so we put

the "Flags of the American Revolution BOM on

sale for 1/2 Price yesterday. Be sure to sign up

On that note, it was time for a change

in the big quilt on my bed. June 20th is

American Eagle Day so I chose "Eagles and

Roses" for my summer quilt. Sam I Am thinks it's

just the thing for his mid-day nap. The BOM

pattern will be on sale starting the 20th.
