There....

My pillow is finished.  I don't know why but whenever I finish a quilt the world seems to be a better place - at least my portion of it.  It lives on my couch for now - not outside.  I just liked both pictures.
Next time I'm going to try to figure out how to have pictures and text down in a row like other's I've seen (you know, picture, text, pictures, text) but I just spent an hour at Walmart with Cullen - he's 2 - and that's enough frustration for one day.  Right now, I'll just sit and stitch and look at my pillow.

  5. Thanks all. And I like the outside chair too - and to make it even better, it was free. It was sitting out back of an antique shop in Jamesport waiting for the trashman and they said I could just have it. I just have to be careful no one really sits in it. :)

  6. Hi Jan! I'm posting here because you are set up on blogger as "no reply". Did you know that? You've left me two comments, including one this morning, and I wanted to reply to both of them. No luck - my reply came right back as undeliverable. So my own choice is to reply here. You might want to chance that. One of the most enjoyable things about blogging is meeting like minded quilters from all over the world. To facilitate that people need to be able to reply to the comments you leave.

Here is how to fix that - in Blogger, go to your "Dashboard". On the left you'll see your picture. Directly to the right of your picture click on "Edit Profile". Put a check in the box that says "Show my email address". Don't worry about doing that - in almost 3 1/2 years of blogging I've never gotten any spam or unwanted emails because I've done that. It just allows other people to reply to the comments I've left on their blog.

About posting and pictures. It isn't necessary to write your posts in Word and then copy them - Blogger has all the editing tools you need. Hold your mouse pointer over the different icons on the tool bar directly above the place you type your post and you'll see what each icon will do. As far as pictures go, I just upload them and then move them. When you upload your pictures, make sure the "left" box under "choose a layout" is clicked. That will put your pictures to the left of your words. I upload all my pictures at once, then move them where I want them by clicking on each one in turn with the mouse, holding down the left mouse button, and dragging them where I want them. Yes, sometimes this messes up the spacing in between paragraphs, so I just fix that after I'm done moving the pictures. Uploading pictures seems to add extra spaces in between paragraphs also, so I just take those out after I've moved the pictures.

I would be happy to answer any blogger questions you have, presuming I know the answer. There are definitely things I don't know how to do, but I have figured out a bunch of things over the years. Just shoot me your question in an email and I'll try to help you.

I'm just thrilled that you are reading - and following! - my blog. It astounds me that "celebrities of the quilting world" are interested in what I write and do. You are my second follower - Jo Morton reads my blog also. I love your stuff - I think I have every book you've written. I just wish I had unlimited time so I could make every single quilt I dream about making!

  7. Patti - No, I had no idea that I was set up as "No reply" I went and changed it following your directions and hope it changed. Now - how do I check my email? You'd better answer here until I figure it out. I really am computer challenged as to figuring things out. Once I know how, I'm fine. As to figuring them out, my mind simply does not move in a linear fashion and it needs to to compute. My mind jumps around in a funky way - somewhat similar to my quilts. And thanks for the information. I didn't know you could move the pictures around.

I love your blog. "Celebrities" at least this designer just love seeing what else is going on in the quilting world. One of the things I really like about quilting is the fact that there is so much variety. Your page is awesome. And how do I email you. I can't find the email address on my page, what's more yours. :)
