It's been a busy week here at the farm.
It finally rained and everything is green again
which of course means the lawn needs mowing again.

It also means that I have roses and dahlias in my kitchen window
to enjoy while we watch the hummybird wars outside.  My heavens those
tiny things can zoom.  They really don't need to be quite so territorial-
there's lots of food in the feeder.  I'm just glad nobody seems to get hurt
because they're lots of fun to watch.

These are my new pet chickens - they're baby Cochins.
Cochins are big, friendly balls of fluff and feathers.  Those are
feathers on their feet.  They're a Chinese breed and can grow to be about 8 lbs
which is pretty large for a chicken.  They don't lay well but that's ok because
I have my Buff Orpingtons and Ameracaunas to lay eggs.
And when the do lay, they're great mothers.
Cochins became famous in the 1800's when some were given to Queen Victoria
as a gift and she absolutely adored them.
I can see why.

This little lady is a Cochin Banty.
She'll be a lot smaller - but again - the feathers on her feet.

After choring- back inside, I'm working on the patterns for my latest
fabric line and on my latest Tablestand quilt.
It's time for pumpkins and witches again :)

So now lets go see what the other designers
have done with the block.s
Lynne of Kansas Troubles
Barb & Mary of Me and My Sister
Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic
Vanessa of Lella Boutique
Betsy Chutchian
Stacy lest Hsu
Laurie Simpson of Minick & Simpson
Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life
Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings
Corey Yoder of Coriander Quilts
Carrie Nelson of Moda's Cutting Table

Jo Morton of Jo's Quilts probably won't be posting
in Blockheads much except when it's her block
 but you might just want
to drop in and see what she's doing.

If so, click here.

Well, that makes 12.
I seem to be Lucky 13.

Until next week ladies,
Keep quilting.:)
