Happy Girl Gang Wednesday

On Friday this week.

Our item on sale today is

                                                                          Be Joyful

You can go to our store to get your kit

by clicking here.

And truthfully I'm having a lot of trouble

being joyful as this is my first

Christmas without Pep after 55 Christmas's

with him.  I keep telling myself to be thankful

that we had so many happy years together and

that does help a little but I still miss him every

minute of every day.

One thing that helped was getting out our

stockings.

His stocking is a snowman and the snowman has

police buttons.  He worked in security for 35 years, first

as a supervisor at Baptist Hospital and then when it closed,

he was transferred to Research Hospital.  They wanted him

to be a supervisor there too but he said he wanted to go

back to being a "worker bee".  Both hospitals are somewhat

close to the "hood" so he kept busy

Then my stocking which hangs next to his has a

house, trees and a kitty.  It should have had a dog

too - I gave him a black Great Dane for a

wedding present and after that we either had

Great Danes or Mastiffs.

At first we rented a house in Kansas City but looked

for land up north because Pep's parents lived in

Chillicothe and that way we would be halfway in

between the families.  Pep's father had bought him

Savings Bonds for every birthday and Christmas.

When we found our 80 acres we cashed them in to

buy the land and build our house out of the bricks

from Midland Brick and Tile, Pep's dad's company.

And 55 years later, here I still am.  The boys want me

to move closer to them but leaving this house that we

built together would be like losing another part of him.

Even as we had a traditional marriage - Pep was very

supportive of me working and took time off to drive me

all over the

country to Quilt Markets.

I usually don't comment on current events but while I

loved a strong man, I could not fathom being attracted

to someone who would shoot a man in the back.  I

find the thought repulsive
