Happy Blockheads4, Block #14

My computer is being difficult.

My grandchildren were here this weekend

and pretty well lived on the computer

and now things don't work.

And I'm not a computer person - I'm a quilt designer

Happy Blockheads #4, Wednesday - Block #13

Evening Delight

Its been a warm week in Northwest Missouri

and everything is really growing so I've

been busy watering all of my garden on

the deck. (Jeff takes care of the garden outside

and I take care of the chickens.)

This is a tomato plant I rescued at

Walmart. (Someone left it at the

checkout desk so I bought it.)

I stuck it in with the sugar snap peas.

Hopefully they will grow around the rim

and it can have the middle.

Its a Better Boy (or something) and

Pep can use it and the basil to make

"summer pizza". "Summer pizza" is

Pep's awesome crust, tomato slices, mozzarella,

basil and olive oil. Very simple and absolutely

delicious. And it only works with real tomatoes

so we only have it in the summer.

The marigolds in the plantar are starting to bloom.

I can't wait to see it covered with marigolds.

It was Flag Day on the 14th so we put

the "Flags of the American Revolution BOM on

sale for 1/2 Price yesterday. Be sure to sign up

On that note, it was time for a change

in the big quilt on my bed. June 20th is

American Eagle Day so I chose "Eagles and

Roses" for my summer quilt. Sam I Am thinks it's

just the thing for his mid-day nap. The BOM

pattern will be on sale starting the 20th.

Happy Blockheads 4 Wednesday, Block #12

Friendship Star

This week we got our new baby chicks.

We always get straight run Buff Orpingtons

and here they are. Straight run for those

of you who don't raise chickens means

that they will be approximately half hens

and half roosters..

We usually get 25 straight run but this year

we're trying to cut back on things (since I'm 77

and Pep's 74) so we only got 15.

I've been showing you our deck garden.

This is the tomato planter a few weeks ago

And here it is now.

These are the "mystery" flowers I

planted, I'm calling

them Mystery flowers because I

lost the seed packet and can't remember

what they are. There are some

disadvantages to being 77. :)

And here they are now.

My marigold planter is doing very well

and shares it's space with some volunteer

succulents. I kind of like the 2 shades of

green and think they will look great when

the marigolds bloom. And I found a great

set to go in the green pot under them. I

just love the purple, soft pink & bright pink

with the olive green pot.

If you belong to the Tablestand Club, the

latest one is getting ready to ship. Its called

"Stars Over Ukraine". It's got 3 houses in it

because they are really in need of houses

over there. Prayers for the people of Ukraine.

Our kit on sale this week is

Beeskeps and Violets. We have quite

a few because Missouri Star had us

make the kits when I taught a retreat over

there.

We ended up with some confusion over advertising

the retreat (I thought they were and they thought I was)

so I had a lot left over.
