Log Cabin Block

To get to the link to download the pattern

And since I had all my blocks made quite awhile ago, I made another one and quilted to
so I could walk you through it.
And also since I leave for Market today it's going to be mainly pictures.
Trace patterns on Freezer Paper and cut them out on the line.
Then iron them onto your fabric.
Cut fabric out with a 1/4" seam allowance, lay the fabric on your
sandpaper board and trace around the pattern.
This is your stitching line.
Baste the logs under along stitching line.
Baste edges of chimney under on the top and sides.
Baste under top of roof and sew chimney to the roof.
Baste sides and top of door.
Dot logs with appli-glue using a toothpick. Try
to keep the glue away from your basting stitches.
Sew logs in place and add door.
Baste window on all 4 sides.
Baste under top of hill
and dot with glue under stitching.
Appliqué hill to background and roof to cabin.
Dot back of cabin with glue.
And since I'm going to hand quilt this block I cut out back of hill.
If you're making the block for your bigger quilt and it's going to
be quilted on a machine, this isn't necessary.
Quilt as desired and bind.
Sew a sleeve on the back for your hanger.
Make a comment, any comment you like and next week when
I get back from Market, I'll have the random number generator pick one to
win a kit including a hanger.
The hanger will NOT BE A Star
IT WILL BE A Heart.
I just didn't get them ordered in time for the picture.
I'll post the picture with the heart hanger next week.
For now, lets go see what the other designers have done with the block.
