Happy Blockheads Wednesday #2

This is Cooee by Janelle Kent
You can go to her blog to download
the pattern for her block
by clicking here.

Besides piecing blocks there's a lot going on at the farm.

Outside, the fuzzy leaves of poppies are sprouting
alongside the tulip leaves, daffodils
and lots of Lillies.

I have a bird feeder out front so I can watch
the birds in the morning while I stitch and
drink my coffee.  When I get up I turn on the
coffeepot, grab my jacket and birdseed and
fill the feeders. Lately, however, every morning
when I get up the feeder has been knocked over
either by deer or raccoons because the ground
around it slopes.

So I asked Jeff to help.  He found a big rock out back
shaped like an arrowhead and dug the ground out to set it in.
It was just the right size for both the feeder and stone dog.
Now quite often, a bird can be seen sitting on the stone
dog's head while munching on seeds from the feeder.
Thanks Jeff, you're great

Chantilly and Sam birdwatch from the bedroom and
wish they could go out but they're not very trustworthy :)

Back inside I'm working on "Stars over Ukraine"-
my next Tablestand Quilt.  The fabric is
Summer Breeze by Vanessa for Moda of course,

This is the last week for the March BOGO,
Patchwork Garden and Morning has Broken

You can go to the store to get your
copies by clicking here.

Now lets take a minute and go see what the

Happy Blockheads Wednesday.

This is "Square Wheel by Lynne Hagmeir of

Kansas Trouble Quilters You can download the pattern by

 clicking here.

As you can see the computer is still acting up.

I think it's an awesome block and am sure you will enjoy making it.

It has been quite a morning - one of those morning

                                                                when everything goes wrong.

But - my camera finally works and my computer finally

works (mostly) so I'm finally here.

This week we're having a BOGO special -
Patchwork Garden and
Morning has Broken
Both for one low price.
And hopefully the links will work so I
can send you to the store.
Your can go to the store to get
your copies by clicking here

These are Tammy's granddaughters who
came to spend the week
with her last week.

As you can see they are Unicorn lovers

as well as chicken lovers- here they are feeding the chickens.
(there weren't any unicorns in sight or they would have fed them too).

Hopefully, by next week we will have some fabric
packs for you.  Terri helps with the piecing and cutting of kits
and fabric packs.  At the moment her daughter's husband was
sent to Poland to help our NATO partners there.  Since our military
doesn't get paid a living wage Terri's daughter has to work so
Terri brings the boys with her too.  Luckily the farm is a
great place for grandchildren and we're more than glad
to have them all.  So please bear with me if things are a little late
sometimes.

And for now
Pray for Ukraine and
Keep quilting.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

And I am part Irish - Scotch Irish -

my maiden name was Laird.

Anyway - here's my green

This is one of my favorite new patterns -
Walk in the Woods made with Deb Strain's
Home Sweet Holidays fabric line.
I've made 2 of them, one for Deb and 1 for me.

Remember these two - Cullen and Quinn.
Since Covid is finally out of the picture (they've had it
and Pep and I have both had 2 shots and a booster) they got
to come up for the weekend again last week.

Here they are now. - What a difference a
day (or two) makes.
Your remember me telling you Cullen broke
both bones of his leg just above the ankle
in a wrestling match.

Well, at least he got his varsity letter in wrestling
out of it - Yay Cullen.  But I do think there are
easier ways to get a letter jacket.  :)

I'm almost finished sewing the binding on Deb's
quilt and will start on mine as soon as I get
my Glory to Ukraine quilt done.

I think I'm going to make the next Tablestand
Quilt using some of these patterns too.

The patterns for Walk in the Woods and
Glory for Ukraine are in the store and on
sale for 17% off today and tomorrow.

You can go to the store to get them by clicking here.

Prayers for the people of Ukraine and
Keep Quilting.

Changes, changes. changes - but it's still snowing.

The cardinals are at the feeders munching away but

Appaloosa Dobey came in out of the snow to get dried off.
He's got a lot more fur than Elizabeth but doesn't want to
stay outside unless I am outside too.  I'll go out in late afternoon
to refill the feeders but for now am comfy inside.
I put a pot of soup on and will be content to quilt.

My sister Nancy has moved into an assisted living
apartment.    She really needed more room than the
bedroom we could spare and they are better equipped
to take care of her medicine.
Anyway, this is the couch she brought from her
house.  She couldn't take it with her so
we found a good home for it

and replaced it with 2 chairs and a table by the laundry room.

Pep suggested that instead of putting a large bed in the room,

we turn her room  into a workspace for me.  I think he

was tired of me using his kitchen counters to iron

on (I hate sewing on wrinkled fabric).

So we've been moving things around.

We kept Cullen's bed in the room -
Midnight Garden just fit on it.

Of course Elizabeth had to check things out
and give her seal of approval.

I'm quite content with it

 I ought to get
a lot of good quilts designed in this room -
starting with

Glory to Ukraine.

It's 44 x 53 and uses the Summer Breeze line
by Vanessa of Lella Boutique.

I'm pretty sure the fabric is in shops now and
you can get the pattern by clicking here.
And I think I should tell you that in my quilts when
you see a star or moon, it doesn't mean its night,
- those are symbols of the celestial,
baskets stand for quilting and of course
houses stand for home and family.

And last but certainly not least, we're
getting ready to start BLOCKHEADS4 so
be sure to check my blog each Wed or Thursday.
Have a good week ladies, pray for Ukraine and
keep quilting.
