I think that I have made it plain over
the years that piecing is not my first choice.
One of the reason I prefer appliqué is that with
pieced blocks you have to pay too much attention -
you can't just relax and sew.
The top block is the first one I made.
The bottom block is how Carrie designed it.
You can go to Moda's blog and download
the pattern by clicking here.
It's a really neat block and I think I put mine
together automatically -but wrong- because my way
there is a pieced star in the block.
We all know how much I love pieced and
appliquéd stars.
If you want to make the block my way just sew
the top, bottom and side sections between
the corner squares in backwards - or upside down.
And speaking of stars -
This is Star Gazing.
It's our "Deal of the Week" - The kit
is on sale for 20% off this week.
You can go to my store to buy the kit

Jo Morton of Jo's Quilts probably won't be posting
in Blockheads much except when it's her block
but you might just want
to drop in and see what she's doing.
If so, click here.
